UCLA Eight-Clap

So we went to our first UCLA sporting event. It was against Berkeley at the iconic Rose Bowl. It was our first time there so we were very excited. We learned a few things at this game.

First – Get there very early and wear good shoes for walking because you have to park a long way away from the Rose Bowl on a public golf course...yep that is where they have you park.

Second – We learned the UCLA Fight Song and the Eight-Clap.

Third – Don't think that just because you are in LA in October it is a great day to go to a football game at the Rose Bowl. It was HOT and that is coming from an Arizona girl. I think it was the cement stadium shaped like a shallow bowl, metal bleachers, lack of any shade, humidity, no wind, and heat all in one. We were burning up and left at halftime.

Fourth – Remember where you parked. Green grass is not a good marker on a golf course.

Even with the heat, it was a fun time and we will try to go again next year...later in the fall.
