Beano Comes to Visit

Our friend Beano came out from Arizona for a few days to visit us and see L.A. The first night we went to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. Beano really wanted to go there and Ryan loves it.

On Saturday, Ryan had a work party - Coney Island theme.
So we stopped by for some games and give Beano a tour of Nick.

Then we went to the Griffith Observatory, where you can see all of LA.
We hadn't been there, so it was pretty cool.

After that we took Beano to Philippe, where he and Ryan bought shirts. It was nice to have him come for a visit.

Fourth of July in Boise

We decided to do a road trip to Boise for the Fourth of July. Thursday morning we loaded up the car and started the drive. We decided to take a slight detour and see Yosemite. It was my first time being there and Ryan hadn't seen it since he was little.

We were lucky we decided to go on Thursday, because once the weekend hit, the roads in and out of Yosemite would be packed.

Here are a few shots of Yosemite. It was gorgeous. We want to plan a camping trip there really soon.

Bridalveil Fall

El Capitan

Do you see the bear? (the little brown dot in the center)

Yep that is snow you see.
We also saw it on the road as we drove out of Yosemite.

Saturday morning, we went to the Boise July 4th parade.

Heidi and her family came up from Ogden to spend July 4th with us

After the parade, we took a tour of the newly remodeled capitol
It was beautiful inside and out

The next day we had a BBQ, visited some of Ryan's friends and went to see the fireworks. They were awesome, except Sadie hated them.

Monday, we packed up and left for California. It was a short but nice trip.

Year Two

Year Two - it passed by quickly. Nothing as exciting as all the events in our first year of marriage. But we are very blessed. We still have the same jobs, still live in Burbank and we still enjoy being with each other.

I think the biggest thing is our little puppy Sienna. She is nothing like Sadie - who was a joy to raise and rarely did anything wrong. Sienna is a spoiled puppy. (I blame Ryan and he blames me.)

Here are a few of the events in our second year of marriage. (Or just keep clicking on older post at the bottom.)

Jersey Shore

For my birthday, we went to the East Coast. We started and ended our trip with a visit to Colter and his family. (The NYC tour and Yankees game are in other posts.)

The 30th birthday (yep, I am that old) started with a trip to the Jersey Shore. It was beautiful. The kids played in the freezing water and dug huge holes in the sand.

Then we went to a great pizza restaurant and finished the celebration with a cake Jill made from scratch. It was a pretty great birthday.

The next day, Grant, Clark and Cora treated us to a pajama piano recital.

After that, Ryan and I took the train to New York.

We ended our trip with Cora's birthday.

Jill did a fantastic job on the cake.

Cora opened presents and had a few dress-up costumes, like this bride one.
I don't think Colter was ready to see her in that.

Yankees vs. Red Sox

Ryan did not hesitate to support me when I suggested going to New Jersey to visit Colter and his family. That would mean a trip to NYC and the new Yankee Stadium.

As a birthday present to me (yeah right), Ryan suggested they take in a game. We were very lucky and got tickets for everyone - Colter, Jill, Grant, Clark, Cora, Sarah and the two of us.

While we were waiting for the game to start, we decided to check out the Yankee Museum

That is a lot of trophies

Finally! Go Jeter!

Around 9 or 10, Colter, Jill and Cora made the trip back to Jersey.
The boys stayed with us until the end.

We all tried to stay warm, but it was pretty cold.

Even with all the rain and delay of game, it was a pretty neat game, coming down to the very end.
